We often confuse fashion with style. Style is the ability to distinctively sort through the maze of things, make a decision and do it in a way that is true to how we see ourselves.
Style is important, often overlooked because it is so misunderstood. I believe style is what people really want when they say they want to be fashionable. Style inspires because it's always fresh, it's a little ode to creativity and uniqueness. It gives a glimpse into someone's personality. It's a reflection of your individuality as a human being.
Style is more than just a few items of clothing. Style is a little expedition into self-expression through clothes. It is self-awareness and self-confidence expressed through what you choose to wear, a life-affirming expression of who you are and what you are about.
It is a helpful tool in moving through the world, whether the social or business world. It communicates things—the kind of person you are. Style is convincing all by itself, even before you've opened your mouth or presented your qualifications.
Fashion is in the clothes. Style is in the wearer. As a result the distinction between fashion and style could not be more important.
